The First Year Compass
You shouldn't have to figure everything out on your own or book a new appointment every time you have a question.
The first year with your baby is full of questions. Some are small and easily answered. Others are more complicated, and many don't fit neatly into one category.
Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Is this a sleep issue, a feeding issue, or just a developmental phase? Who should I talk to? And how am I supposed to put all this advice into practice?
You can spend hours searching the internet, sorting through conflicting recommendations, and trying to figure out which advice actually applies to your baby. Or you can have someone in your corner who knows your family, understands the research, and can help you connect the dots.
The First Year Compass offers ongoing, personalized education and guidance throughout your baby's first year, with regular check-ins and frequent text-based support for the questions that arise along the way.
Drawing on my experience as a doula, lactation educator, babywearing consultant, and Nurture Neuroscience Practitioner, I help families navigate feeding, sleep, infant development, babywearing, and the everyday realities of responsive parenting.
This isn't about following a particular parenting philosophy or getting everything "right." It's about understanding your baby, making informed decisions, and finding approaches that work for your family.
Welcome Consultation
We'll begin by getting to know your family, your baby, and what's important to you.
We'll talk through your current questions, challenges, goals, and priorities, and establish a foundation for our ongoing work together.
Twice-Monthly Check-Ins
Two 20-minute virtual or phone appointments each month give us dedicated time to reconnect, talk through what's changing, anticipate upcoming developmental transitions, and explore questions in greater depth.
Rather than starting from scratch at every appointment, we'll build on an ongoing understanding of your family.
Frequent Text-Based Support
Send questions as they come up, whether you're wondering about a change in your baby's sleep, trying to understand feeding behavior, adjusting to a new developmental stage, or sorting through conflicting parenting advice.
Many everyday questions can be addressed through a quick conversation, a practical suggestion, or a helpful resource…without requiring another appointment.
You'll have a consistent person to turn to who already knows your family's circumstances and can help you make sense of what you're experiencing.
Resources, Referrals & Care Navigation
Sometimes you need information. Sometimes you need a different kind of professional support. And sometimes the hardest part is knowing the difference.
I'll help you recognize when a concern may benefit from additional assessment, understand which type of provider or specialist may be most helpful, and find appropriate resources.
When you're already working with a healthcare professional, I can also help you make sense of educational information, prepare follow-up questions, and explore practical ways to incorporate their recommendations into everyday family life.
The goal isn't to replace your providers. It's to help you feel more informed and supported as you work with them.

When Can We Begin?
The First Year Compass is available to families with babies from birth through 12 months. You don't have to enroll immediately after birth, and you don't need to know exactly what questions you'll have.
Whether your baby is two weeks old or eight months old, we'll begin wherever you are.
A Few Important Details
The First Year Compass provides ongoing educational support, not medical care, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency assistance. Families should contact their healthcare providers directly for medical concerns, and urgent concerns should never wait for a message response.
Text support is intended for everyday questions, education, resources, and guidance - not continuous or real-time availability. Some concerns may require a dedicated hands-on appointment or assessment by an appropriate healthcare professional.
