Prenatal Babywearing Consultation

$85.00

You've probably spent plenty of time researching strollers, car seats, and baby gear. But have you thought about how you'll actually carry your baby once they're here?

Newborns often want to be held…a lot. And while that closeness can be wonderful, it can also make everyday things like eating lunch, walking the dog, caring for older children, or simply moving around the house surprisingly complicated.

Babywearing can be one useful tool for keeping your baby close while giving you more freedom to move. But with so many carrier styles, conflicting recommendations, and expensive registry favorites, it's hard to know what will actually work for you.

You don't have to wait until you're sleep-deprived and holding a crying newborn to figure it out.

During this prenatal consultation, we'll:

  • Explore different carrier styles, including wraps, ring slings, and structured carriers, so you can understand the differences before buying.

  • Try on carriers and identify what feels comfortable and manageable for your body.

  • Learn the basics of safe newborn positioning, airway awareness, and carrier fit.

  • Practice putting on, adjusting, and removing carriers using a demonstration doll.

  • Talk through how babywearing might fit into your everyday routines, from soothing and bonding to walks, errands, and caring for older children.

  • Discuss what to expect when introducing your newborn to a carrier, including feeding cues, crying, and the adjustment to being carried.

You'll leave knowing what to look for in a carrier, what you actually need (and don't need) on your registry, and how to begin practicing before your baby arrives.

Instead of choosing a carrier based on marketing or someone else's favorite, you'll be able to make a more informed decision based on your own body, preferences, and lifestyle.

And when your baby arrives, you'll already have a foundation to build on.
